Black History Model Edition "Mademoiselle Josephine Baker"

Once described as to skinny and too dark, this woman went on to become one of the most famous black women in America for blacks and an all out European  sensation.  All of Josephine's accomplishments never quite resonated with some Americans(mostly white) until the late 50's. She dreaded coming to American for that reason but did not let it stop her in joining the fight to end segregation.  Though she was never coined a model by today standards she is that and much more. She was a model in every sense of the word. She lived independently, had a free spirit, and still took action to fight injustice. A true chocolate beauty the black and white photos do't even come close to her real beauty i am sure.  I am a fan and admirer of her courage and will. Mademoiselle Baker  June 3, 1906-April 12, 1975
